Lots Happening at Disney in 2016!

2016 is shaping up to be really exciting for Disney fans – especially if you’re looking for a Star Wars fix. Disney World is unveiling even more Star Wars-themed entertainment at Hollywood Studios as early as this Spring – including one of the most elaborate fireworks and projection shows in the park’s history.

That “galaxy far, far away’’ will be closer than ever with the April 4, 2016, arrival of the new Star Wars live entertainment experience Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away. This new chewbaccastage show celebrates iconic moments from the Star Wars saga with live vignettes featuring popular Star Wars characters, such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. The show will take place multiple times each day at the Center Stage area near The Great Movie Ride.

Also starting April 4, Captain Phasma will lead a squad of First Order stormtroopers as they march in formation from Star Wars Launch Bay to the Center Stage area in an intimidating demonstration of the First Order’s indomitable strength.

Starting this summer, you won’t want to miss the next generation of the new SStarWarstar Wars-inspired fireworks show. This blockbuster nightly show, unprecedented in Hollywood Studios’ history, will light up the sky with Star Wars-themed fireworks, lasers, light projections and other special effects combined with Star Wars-themed music, iconic characters and scenes from throughout the saga.

Over at Epcot, the International Food & Wine Festival returns Sept. 14-Nov. 14, 2016. That means almost two additional weeks – from 53 days to 62 – of deliciousness, foodie fun, culinary events, celebrity chefs, seminars, music concerts and more.

The new Frozen-inspired attraction, which transports Guests to the Winter in Summer Celebration, Elsa’s Ice Palace and the Bay of Arendelle, will open its doors at the Norway Pavilion this spring. Plus, you can meet royal sisters, Anna and Elsa, at a new dedicated character greeting.

And Animal Kingdom will come alive at night with the new Rivers of Light show, an innovative new show featuring floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery, expected to debut this Spring.
